Unbreakable if you have kids. I used it to store cakes but it's really versatile and I can use it for so many other things including a punch bowl or salsa and chips. When I ordered it I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was acrylic but I'm glad it is. I have grandkids who have broken my glass container and this will be much better. Great purchase.

I like this cake stand, the only thing I don't like is the water stains which you have to clean really well after washing, other than that it looks nice.
